Health & Mobility Requirements for Group Tours

Can You Comfortably Join the Panama Relocation Tour?

We want every guest to have an amazing—and safe—experience in Panama. Our 6-day group tour includes plenty of exploring, learning, and sightseeing. Because it involves daily walking, stairs, and uneven terrain, guests need to have a moderate level of mobility and stamina to fully enjoy the trip.

If you normally use a walker, wheelchair, or scooter, our Private Tour option may be a better fit. Our private tour itineraries can be customized based on your ability level and go at your own pace.

🥾 What to Expect Each Day

During the tour, you’ll:

  • Walk short distances to and from restaurants, stores, and properties we visit
  • Go on longer walks to tour a hospital and larger properties
  • Get on and off the bus using stairs multiple times a day
  • Stand for extended periods during site visits
  • Climb steps and navigate uneven sidewalks and driveways
  • Possibly stay on the 2nd floor of a hotel that doesn't have an elevator

It’s not a hiking tour—but it’s also not a “sit back and watch” trip. Guests are on their feet quite a bit each day.

✅ Mobility Self-Check

To make sure the tour will be safe and enjoyable for you (and the group), please complete this self-assessment:

  • Can you walk at least half a mile on uneven ground without help?
  • Can you go up and down a flight of stairs without assistance?
  • Can you do these activities unassisted, several times per day, for six days in a row?

Unfortunately, walkers, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters can’t be used on group tours due to bus and site access limitations.

If you answered “no” or “not sure” to any of these, a Private Tour is likely the best option for you.

💬 Why We Have These Requirements

Our goal is to keep everyone safe, on schedule, and able to enjoy each activity. Guests who aren’t able to meet the mobility requirements often find the tour exhausting or stressful—and it can affect the experience for the rest of the group.

For safety reasons, guests who are unable to meet these requirements may be unable to participate in certain activities or may be asked to leave the tour for their own well-being. We truly don’t want that to happen — so please contact us before booking if you have any questions about mobility.

❤️ We’re Here to Help

If you’re not sure whether the group tour is right for you—or if you have a medical condition that affects mobility—please reach out. We’ll be happy to talk through your situation and help you choose the best option for your comfort and safety.

Bottom line:

If you can walk a block, climb a flight of stairs, and comfortably repeat those activities several times a day for six days in a row—you’ll do great!

If that sounds like too much, a Private Tour will be the perfect way to experience Panama at your own pace.
