Booking Your International Flight
You are responsible for booking your own round-trip international flight to Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City. This airport is closest to where our tour starts and is where our airport shuttle driver will meet you.
To get the best price we recommend booking your flight at least 60 to 90 days before your tour date.
We recommend using Google Flights to find airfare. It will search across most airlines and let you compare flight times & prices.
Airport shuttle service upon your arrival is available between 5 AM and 11 PM. If you arrive outside of this time, we will not be able to pick you up until 5 AM. We recommend booking a flight that arrives between 4:30 AM and 10:30 PM.
When flying to Panama, you need to arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) no later than 11 PM on your tour check-in day / Friday. For example, if you purchased the December 13-20 tour - your tour check-in day is December 13 and you should book a flight that arrives no later than 11 PM on that day.
If you are flying to Panama before your tour check-in day it is ok to book a flight arriving at any time.
When departing Panama, it's very important that you book a flight out of Tocumen International Airport (PTY) that leaves after 2 PM on your tour check-out day. For example, if you purchased the December 13-20 tour - your tour check-out day is December 20 and it's important that you book a flight that leaves after 2 PM if you are departing Panama on that day.
If you are flying out of Panama after your tour check-out day it is ok to book a flight departing at any time.
We can not get you to the airport in time for a flight departing before 2 PM on your tour check-out day. If there are no flights to your destination after 2 PM then you will need to depart at any time on the following day. In this case, we recommend reserving a room at a hotel near Tocumen International Airport.
