Departing From Tocumen International Airport

Check-in at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) starts 3 hours before your flight. You will not be allowed to check in or go through airport security if your flight is more than 3 hours away. Once your flight is less than 3 hours away, you can check in, go through airport security, then go to your gate.

You must be checked in at least 2 hours before your international flight.

Please be aware that you must go through security a 2nd time before you can board the plane. The 2nd security checkpoint is at the gate, just before you board the plane. You need to allow extra time for this 2nd security checkpoint. If you have a limited amount of time during your layover, you should proceed directly to your gate.
