Weather During Your Tour

Friday through Tuesday afternoon, we’ll be at or near sea level. It is normally hot and humid, with daytime temperatures around 85°–95°F (29°–35°C) and nighttime temperatures around 70°–76°F (21°–24°C). We recommend light, comfortable clothing such as shorts, short-sleeve shirts, and breathable fabrics.

Tuesday evening through Friday morning, we’ll be at higher elevations. Temperatures are usually milder, around 70°–85°F (21°–29°C) during the day and 58°–66°F (14°–19°C) at night, with less humidity in some towns. We recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket, especially for the evenings. Depending on your tolerance for cooler weather, you may also want long pants.

Dry Season: Mid-December through Mid-April

During the dry season, there may be little or no rain during your tour, though an occasional shower is still possible. It can also be breezy or windy in some higher-elevation areas.

Wet Season: Mid-April through Mid-December

During the wet season, it is common to have rain on several days of the tour, but the mornings and early afternoons are often beautiful. We plan most activities earlier in the day when possible. When it rains, it often happens in the late afternoon or evening and may pass quickly.
